Rafael Montero’s AAA debut – and what appears to be his only AAA start this month – was a rousing success, despite giving up some rockets he almost pitched a 7 inning complete game, working 6.2 innings while allowing just 4 hits and 2 runs (the GW run was on an IHR Josh Edgin allowed to score). Overall, Montero’s AAA debut was phenominal. The Vegas offense was abysmal.

I’m honestly wondering what it’s going to take to get Allan Dykstra a promotion to AAA. The guy has done NOTHING but hit, and hit VERY well since he was traded for. He put up a .267/.389/.474/.861 line as a 24 year old in AA in 2011, followed it up with a .262/.423/.419/.842 line in half a season in 2012 in AA, and is hitting .271/.424/.427/.851 this year in AA as a 26 year old. Like… what more can he possibly DO? He was a first round pick, 23rd overall, in 2008, 5 picks after Ike, and 1 after Havens, actually. And it’s not like he hasn’t put up the numbers, he has. So again, what gives here?
