Rainy Lara was absolutely dominant tonight, scattering 3 hits across 7 shutout innings for his second straight EL victory. Lara only struck out 3, but used his defense well, and worked quickly, needing just 78 pitches to finish 7. Chasen Bradford worked a hitless 9th in relief. Darrell Ceciliani drove home a pair out of the leadoff spot. Matt Reynolds, coming off a 3 hit game last night, picked up 2 more and a walk to push his early season average to .296.

Steven Matz had a very good second outing for St. Lucie, striking out 6 and walking one across 6 innings, he took a ND but pitched well enough to win. Bret “Hitman” Mitchell fired 2 shutout innings in relief for the win. Overall, three Met pitchers struck out 11 Miracle hitters. Dilson Herrera and Brandon Nimmo both had 2 hits atop the Mets lineup. TJ Rivera and Phillip Evans also had multi hit games. Evans is hitting .318 through the Mets first 8 games.
