AAA Pacific Coast League: Las Vegas 5/9/1 @ Fresno 2/9/0

Noah Syndergaard tiptoed his way out of trouble in his final 2 innings after 3 good ones to open his outing, ending up going 5 innings, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits while striking out 5 and walking 2. Joel Carreno, Josh Edgin and Jeff Walters fired 4 shutout innings out of the Vegas bullpen. Edgin, however, lowered his ERA to 10.38.

AA Eastern League: Binghamton 4/8/0 @ Portland 9/9/0

Greg Peavey got rocked again, giving up 5 runs on 2 hits but 4 walks in 5.1 innings for his first loss of the season. His ERA is 6.75 through 2 starts. Adam Kolarek allowed 3 runs on 4 hits and a walk in 1.2 innings to somehow take a blown save. Peavey is fast pitching his way to “release” territory, in my opinion.

A 7th inning bullpen implosion turned a winnable 3-1 game into a 12-1 rout, damage occured against Julian Hilario and Bret Mitchell, who combined to give up 10 runs over 1.2 innings of relief. Luis Cessa started and was ok, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings. The Mets offense hammered out 13 hits but were just 2 for 10 with RISP and left 8 on base. Brandon Nimmo had the lone multi hit game among prospects.
