Domingo Tapia had a fantastic outing today, giving up just 2 unearned runs on 4 hits in 7 innings to pick up his 2nd FSL win of the season. Offensively, TJ Rivera and Matt Reynolds had multi hit games. Rivera is having a very fine start to his season, which is encouraging to see. His upside might be a backup middle infielder, but we could definitely use a quality one of those.

A South Atlantic League: Savannah 6/8/0 @ Lakewood 4/12/1

Brandon Nimmo again had himself a great game, this time with a triple and 2 walks, upping his triple slash to .444/.520/.603 in his first 63 full season ABs. Among the very important developments early, he’s cut his strikeout rate down considerably (.293 last season vs .206 this season), but this has come with a reduction in walk rate, from .173 to .127. Still, it’s hard to argue with a 1.123 OPS out of a 20 year old in full season ball.

In other offensive news, Jayce Boyd Plawecki doubled and drove in 4. Rainy Lara had very poor outing, getting shelled for 4 runs on 11 hits in just 5.1 innings.

2. cf Brandon Nimmo 1 for 3, 2 runs, 3b (3), 2 BBs, K, .444
