A seven run 2nd iced this game early for the Mets, as they sent 11 men to the plate and scored 7. Brandon Nimmo had a huge game with a RBI double and 4 walks. Eudy Pina and Phillip Evans had multi-hit games, both had 3 hit games, actually. Steven Matz started and was fantastic, giving up just 4 hits and striking out 6 over 5.2 innings. Seth Lugo got the final 10 outs and got roughed up with a 10+ run lead, giving up 7 hits and 5 runs (4 earned) while also striking out 6.

A South Atlantic League: Savannah 10/17/0 @ Lakewood 3/5/0

Rob Whalen had a fantastic outing tonight, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits with 7 strikeouts over 5 innings for the win. A 5 run 7th broke it open late for Savannah. The big blows were a bases clearing Stefan Sabol and a 2 run Victor Cruzado homer. Sabol, 22, is having a terrific start to his season as he repeats the SAL (.286/.394/.536/.930 in 56 ABs, 5 2b, 3 HR, 10/19 BB/K). Cruzado had a double in addition to the homer, he had 3 hits overall and has been heating up in his last 10 games (.242/.366/.424/.790, 2b, 3b, HR, 7/7 BB/K).
