Check back for updates in the morning. With Vegas in the PCL, this is how it’ll have to go, especially for Wheeler and McHugh starts. Other guys, not so much. Follow me on Twitter for updates, as well (@MetsProspectHub).

AAA International League: Las Vegas

Zack Wheeler had poor control tonight, he lasted just 3.1 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs, while walking 3, throwing a wild pitch, and striking out 3. He threw 86 pitches, 51 for strikes. Juan Lagares, Josh Satin, Travis d’Arnaud and Wilmer Flores each have a hit and walk so far.

Las Vegas is ahead 4-2 in the 4th inning.

Edit @ 1216am: Satin and a’Arnaud are now 2 for 2 each. d’Arnaud has a second double. Wilmer has a sac fly, and Lutz has a ringing double that just missed being a 3 run HR. Vegas is up 8-2 in the 6th.

AA Eastern League: Binghamton 2/5/0 @ Akron 1/5/2

Rafael Montero was absolutely dominant in his opening start, firing 5.2 innings of 2 hit, 1 run ball to pick up a win. He struck out 8, walked none, and threw 77% of his pitches for strikes, including several curves and changeups to get strikeouts. Montero was one of the fastest risers in the system last year, and he picked up right where he left off. Jeffrey Walters, a pretty much untalked about arm, picked up the 2 inning save. Walters throws in the mid 90s and features a very good slider, he is a definite bullpen arm to keep an eye on. Offensively, the Mets had 5 hits and 2 runs, while drawing 4 walks.

Hansel Robles left the game in the 4th inning with some sort of an arm injury after an errant pickoff throw. Before departing, he’d been pitching decently, having allowed 2 runs (both solo homers) on 5 hits with 6 strikeouts. Offensively, Matt Reynolds and Camden Maron had multi hit games, Aderlin Rodriguez doubled and drove in a pair.
