AAA Pacific Coast League: Las Vegas

And the badness concludes with a 51s bullpen implosion. Josh Edgin and Erik Goeddel combined to give up 7 two out runs, turning a 6-1 Vegas lead into a disappointing horrible 8-6 loss. Starter Jacob deGrom was excellent, continuing where Rafael Montero and Noah Syndergaard had left off, deGrom gave up a run on 4 hits with 6 strikeouts. Edgin (5), and Goeddel (2) got wrecked in the 9th. Daniel Muno (2), Eric Campbell (2), Kirk Nieuwenhuis (2), Cesar Puello (3) had multi hit games.

AA Eastern League: Binghamton 6/8/0 vs Akron 3/10/0, in 7 innings, Game 1

Rainy Lara’s AA debut was shaky, as he gave up 3 runs on 8 hits in 5.1 innings, while striking out just 3, but it was enough this game to get him a win. Chasen Bradford worked a scoreless 9th to pick up the save. Adam Kolarek picked

up 2 outs in between. Offensively, Kyle Johnson had 2 hits, including a double, and scored twice. Jayce Boyd and Dustin Lawley had 2 RBI each.

Tyler Pill’s first AA outing of 2014 (he got 4 starts last year before being injured with a Bennett Leision which ultimately needed to be operated on) was a bad one, he got roughed up for 6 hits and walked 3 in 4 innings, ultimately

surrendering 3 runs and taking the loss. The Mets bullpen was stellar (a sentence I do not expect to ever write about the big club), tossing 3 perfect innings with 4 strikeouts.
