AAA International League: Buffalo 7/6/1, Scranton 8/10/4

Jeurys Familia and Dellin Betances, two “maligned” starting pitching prospects for the two NY teams, squared off tonight… and both of them were absolutely pathetic and putrid. Betances couldn’t throw a strike if his life depended on it, and Familia was handed a 3-0 lead before he took the mound and couldn’t complete 3 innings, nevermind that, he never took the mound in the 3rd. Josh Edgin gave up 2 runs (1 earned) in 1.2 innings, and Pedro Beato allowed one of Edgin’s IHRs to score, plus allowed a run of his own in 0.1 innings (on a homer). #pitchingfail

A South Atlantic League: Savannah 1/9/1, Augusta 2/8/0

Michael Fulmer had an uncharacteristic issue with walks tonight, he issued 3 in 4 innings, after walking just 10 in his previous 29.2 innings. His last two starts have each featured 3 walks, which have basically doubled his season’s total. He HAD walked just 7 in 27.2 innings prior to his last two outings (a ridiculous (especially for a HS pitcher) 2.27 per 9), his BB rate now stands at a still good 3.47 per 9. The Gnats offense was very, very quiet.
