AAA International League: Las Vegas

AA Eastern League: Binghamton 8/11/0 @ Harrisburg 2/3/2

Erik Goeddel had a decent outing tonight, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits and 3 walks in 6 innings to even his record at 2 and 2. Three Met relievers (Adam Kolarek, Josh Edgin, Jeff Walters) followed with perfect innings of relief (I’ll take “Things We Wish Would Happen in the Majors for $11 billion). Offensively, Darrell Ceciliani exploded for 3 hits, including a homer, driving his average up to .248 on the season. Wilfredo Tovar was hit in the hand by a pitch and had to leave the game.

A+ Florida State League: St. Lucie 10/11/3 @ Fort Myers 5/9/2

19 year old Robert Gsellman, an injury/callup replacement, has acquitted himself VERY nicely in his first two FSL outings this season. So far, the only blemish on his record in those starts came tonight in the form of a 3 run Miguel Sano homer, the only runs he would allow in his 5 innings. In fact, factoring out his first inning, Gsellman fired 4 no hit innings, allowing just one walk while striking out 3, very very impressive work for someone who spent last season in the Appy League (1-3, 3.92 in 43.2 ip). Offensively, TJ Rivera singled, walked, and scored thrice. Aderlin Rodriguez doubled, homered, and drove in four.

1. ss TJ Rivera 1 for 4, 3 runs, BB, .270

A South Atlantic League: Savannah 9/9/2 @ Hickory 2/6/2

This was a 1-1 game to the 8th, when Savannah put up a 4 spot, and then for good measure, they put up 4 more on one swing of the bat in the 9th, winning in going away fashion. Kevin Plawecki had 3 hits, including the granny in the 9th, and is now hitting .416. Please promote him. Rainy Lara picked up the win, allowing a run on in 7 innings.
