Cesar Puello did not play tonight after 15 innings between 2 games yesterday, and if you recall, he was hit by a pitch in his last AB of the day

yesterday. So we’ll see where we are with Puello tomorrow. In his absense, no prospects did anything all that impressive, Allan Dykstra walked

twice. On the mound, Cory Mazzoni gave up 3 runs (1 earned) on

As I alluded to on my Twitter (@MetsProspectHub), Cory Mazzoni’s last 4 starts have been high K, high run outings. Over his last 4 starts,

Mazzoni’s gone 24.2 innings, at least 6 per start. He’s given up 22 hits and 6 walks, but 15 runs (9 earned), for a 3.28 era, but a 5.47 RA, and

along the way, he’s struck out 34, a K/9 of 12.4. It’s a very interesting stretch to watch, since he’s not as dominant as the 5/34 BB/K would

suggest he should be. Just a little something to keep in mind as we move forward here.

Kevin Plawecki’s 3 run homer in the first was his first high A hit, and the game was underway… in a bad way for Domingo Tapia. Staked to a 5-0

lead, Tapia gave it all back in a nightmarish 3rd inning in which he allowed 6 hits and 5 runs, while also walking a batter. Outside of that

diasater inning, Tapia was all right, but the sum total was awful, 6 runs, on 11 hits in 5.1 innings. The Mets offense was up to the challenge,

rallying back from a 6-5 deficit with 2 in the 7th and 1 in the 9th, winning a crazy one 8 to 6. Five Mets had 2 hits in the game, Matt Reynolds

his 4th in his last 5 games. Rehabbing Matt den Dekker singled twice and walked, he’s 3 for 15 on his rehab so far.
