Wilmer Flores had a huge game with 4 hits, including a pair of doubles, driving in a pair and upping his EL average to a gaudy .471 (8 for 17). Reese Havens homered and walked as he continues to try and dig his way out of an impossible hole. Ryan Fraser (a VASTLY underrated relief prospect) picked up the win.

A South Atlantic League: Savannah 1/3/0, Augusta 2/13/2

Why is Jim Fuller in the organization, in Savannah, taking valuable starts from real prospects? IDFK, but he is, and he gave up 2 runs in 3+ to take the loss. Camden Maron didn’t get a hit for the first time basically all month, snapping a 16 game hit streak.

A- New York Penn League: Brooklyn 10/13/0, Aberdeen 5/7/1

Brandon Nimmo walked 3 more times, upping his league leading total to 10, an outstanding number for a ‘raw’ 19 year old in a college heavy league. Alexander Sanchez, part of the infamous Dominican Speed Squad (with Randoll Santana, Yucarybert De La Cruz and Gilbert Gomez) had a 4 hit game. Nelfi Zapata, who some of us irrationally started to like for no apparent reason, had a 3 hit game, including launching a HR the Cyclones Twitter described as “going to the Delaware border”. Gabriel Ynoa fired 6 shutout innings, then allowed a pair of runners in the 7th and was pulled. Both scored, but he picked up his first win of the season.

2. cf Brandon Nimmo 0 for 2, 2 runs, 3 BBs, .217 (the AVG means nothing, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, the 10/3 BB/K in 23 ABs means THE WORLD)
3. ss Phillip Evans 1 for 5, RBI (3), .280

R+ Appalachian League: Kingsport 8/15/3, Greeneville 3/10/2

Robert Gsellman had an outstanding season debut, giving up 5 hits and an UER over 6 innings for his first pro win. Offensively, Bradley Marquez had a multi hit game, the first of his pro baseball career (cause he’s probably been hit multiple times in football, GET IT??????), then left the game with an apparent injury after stealing third base. Joe Tuschak and Brandon Kaupe also had multi-hit games.

1. cf Bradley Marquez 2 for 4, run, 2b (1), RBI (1), .286, SB (1)
