AA Eastern League: Binghamton LIGHTNING

A+ Florida State League: St. Lucie 4/11/1 vs Bradenton 0/6/2

Rainy Lara had a very good outing this morning, giving up just 5 hits and 2 walks in 5.2 innings while striking out 8 for his 2nd FSL victory of the season. Bret Mitchell, who’s been very shaky command wise in his 4 innings in St. Lucie, walked 3 more in his one inning of work, he’s now walked 5 in his first 4 innings, after just 7 walks in 30.2 innings in Savannah (obviously small sample size alert!). Matt den Dekker and Kevin Plawecki had multi hit games. Jayce Boyd only had one hit, further dropping his FSL average to .462.

Michael Fulmer’s first official rehab start was a smashing success, he fired 6 shutout innings and struck out 6 to get the win. I’d imagine either one more rehab start, or else right to St. Lucie is the plan. Offensively, Wuilmer Becarra (we got him in the RA Dickey trade as a throw in) and Jhoan Urena had multi hit games. Dom Smith doubled in 5 trips.
