AAA International League: Buffalo 2/6/0, Toledo 1/4/2

Jenrry Mejia’s second AAA start was slightly less effective than his first, he had some control issues which elevated his pitch count, still, he pitched into the 6th inning and had his sinker/cutter working, as evidenced by his 9 groundball outs, among the 16 he recorded tonight. He left with a 1-0 lead which the bullpen could not hold. Ruben Tejada played 5 innings at shortstop and went hitless in 3 ABs. Pedro Beato worked 3.1 perfect innings of relief to notch his 2nd AAA victory, he should be up soon.

A+ Florida State League: St. Lucie 1/4/1, Tampa 2/9/1

Yes, a loss. Amazing, right? Taylor Whitenton walked a batter to leadoff the 10th, and Adam Kolarek allowed that runner to score, plating the winning run for those damn Yankee wannabees. Chase Huchington started and went the front 5, giving up a run on 6 hits, then it was Jack Leathersich time, and he didn’t disappoint, striking out SIX over 2.2 innings. Offensively, no one stood out.
