AAA International League: Buffalo 1/7/1, Pawtucket 4/12/0

Mark Cohoon had 5 shutout innings under his belt, but couldn’t get one out in the 6th, he faced 5 batters, and allowed 2 singles, a sac bunt (where no outs were recorded, and no FC scored… huh?), and then 2 more singles which plated 2 runs, before he was pulled for Jose De La Torre, who allowed 1 of Cohoon’s 3 IHR to score. Ruben Tejada took an 0-fer, as did Josh Satin.

Greg Peavey got pinged and dinged to death today, giving up 12 hits (all singles) in 2.1 innings, leading to 9 runs (7 earned) and his 2nd FSL loss. At least he does it in style. In his 2 FSL losses, he’s given up 17 runs (14 earned) in 7 innings, a beautiful 18 era. In his other 4 starts, he’s given up 4 runs (3 earned) in 22 innings, a sparkling 1.23 era. John Church did great in long relief, then Estarlin Morel got crushed for 5 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits in 2 innings. The Mets offense had 16 hits and a 2/9 BB/K, but were an abysmal 3 for 15 (.200) with RISP and left 13 on base. Pedro Zapata, Mike Baxter (a waiver claim, should be going to AAA soon), Stefan Welch, Cory Vaughn and Robbie Shields had multi hit games.
