Luis Cessa fired a CG, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits in 7 innings while striking out 7, he is Rule V eligible this winter, and the Mets are going to have two interesting calls to make on him, and fellow SAVANNAH starter Steven Matz. It’s pretty rare to protect a player below high A, and very very rare to protect two of them in the same season. The Mets were also recently burned by protecting Brooklyn starter Hansel Robles needlessly two winters ago. Still, there exist very good possibilities that one, or both, of Matz and Cessa would be taken if not protected.
